Provenance is Key - Since 1981

Guy Azera grew up in the countryside in Blaye, just outside of Bordeaux, amongst vineyards & old stone buildings. Son of the owners of a restaurant and a popular hotel built in the Citadelle de Vauban, Guy grew up helping where he could & learning the ins and outs of the kitchens & restaurant service.

Guy never thought to be in the wine trade but in 1981 during an exchange program at UCLA Guy saw an opportunity to share authentic wines from his home in Bordeaux with restaurants & stores in Los Angeles. Transat Trade Inc. (the predecessor to The Wine Source Inc.) was born from this idea.

Guy began with four Bordeaux estates, doing everything on his own. As the company grew, so did the portfolio. Although Bordeaux holds a special place in Guy's heart, his travels to Bordeaux and across France led him to build relationships with winemakers across France, and a portfolio encompassing hundreds of wines from appellations across France, as well as other select estates in other countries & the US.

Through the years, Guy's core mission has remained the same, SHARE AUTHENTIC WINES THAT TRULY REPRESENT THEIR TERROIR, as has his goal to BECOME THE TRUSTED SOURCE FOR ALL FRENCH WINE NEEDS.
