Le Bassin d’Archachon - In August 1923, a French engineer searching for oil came across this large mineral spring. Natural mineral water has been drawn every day for almost a century from a depth of 472 metres (1,548 feet). For a time, the spring was used as a healing spa due to its mineral content.
